6/12: UPDATE FOR END OF EXAMS AND THUS SEM 1.

Hello to five weeks of kite flying and nail painting and sleepovers and Hibiki again (woohoo!) and more collagen aburi salmon roll before the promotion runs out and HK with Soonae and meeting up with all the homies coming back from Aust, UK and US :DDD

MAY THE END OF THE LAST -TEEN YEAR not mark the end of extreme childishness and insanity.

A good excuse to update this thing: holiday pictures!

The usual deal, a megathon of photos )

All in all, it was a fantastic trip. We felt really proud of ourselves for planning our own itinerary, doing all the flight and accommodation bookings (especially since it was such a last minute trip), and surviving the experience with just each other. So thanks Rachel, for making our holiday a great one!

In other news, if I haven't mentioned it to you yet, I'll be going to NUS business school (and staying in PGP). It's definitely not where I thought I'd be going or what I thought I'd be doing barely three months ago, but I'm learning to take things as they come and trying to be more adaptable. Sure, it sucked to have to reject the US uni offers that I had, but staying in Singapore also has its perks.

Well okay. There are barely three weeks left till term begins, and I'm really going to miss the freedom and luxury of time. But at the same time, I'm (kind of) ready for the next phase of life to begin. Here's to a good uni life ahead for everyone!

This is Colin! He's 11 days old now but that was taken when he was... 3 days old.

My parents are now grandparents and that is still !!! to me.

I have so abandoned this LJ. I thought I would have so much to say for 2009 but 1. I guess not, and 2. I got lazy. Also, it looks like my life is going down a path I can't say I am looking forward to. Hooray!

I am completely obsessed with my Nintendo DSi (if you are a DS-lite owner, don't bother getting it because the upgrades are rather incremental). Best purchase of 2009 so far, hands down. The iPod has been relegated to use-only-when-playing-DSi-is-too-difficult. As I watched the credits roll on GTA: Chinatown Wars after the last mission ended, my world just crumbled. What am I going to do now if I can no longer hijack cars and peddle drugs and defend the Triads' honor from Spanish Lords and the Russian Mafia?

Well, January 1, 2009 was the first new year's day I didn't dread. For once, no "ARRGH I have to start this vicious cycle all over again tomorrow" :D

Now all I have to be concerned about is what to do with the rest of my life.

Oh well, one thing at a time. I'm just glad all the applications are over... for now.

Happy new year everyone! May 2009 be way better than the moderately sucky previous year.

Edit 2/1: I had to add this. Today I purchased a pair of slippers for $3.50 and an LG KS360 phone (plan-less) for $288 at an Esso petrol station. You can buy anything anywhere these days.

I know most of the photos are on Facebook, but since I don't have everyone there yet and I like having them all on one page, I shall just put together a bunch of the photos I have and that I got from others (:

Prom, post-prom, and blackmail-worthy photos )

The 10,000 (fine, 90 in total) photos I have are in this album and this album.

Prom itself was mostly about phototaking (well, what else is new) and eating whenever we weren't busy taking photos. I am amazed at the capacity of Raffles Ballroom to contain our entire batch.

Post-prom our feet were killing themselves. I can't believe my toes felt numb for almost 24 hours. Anyway drinks at La Viva at Chijmes was the most hilarious thing ever thanks to Lynette, who got drunk on just about nothing (Me: (Silence) | Lynette: (Turns to me) I AGREE!) Strategically place yourself in the middle of a 14-person table and you can take part in both conversations on each end.

Pina coladas are yummy, and I regret not trying Rachel D's white chocolate martini ): Breakfast at Bugis Macs at around 5+ in the morning was tasty and woozy. Cherylt is scary when she's high. Conked out from 6.45 to 10-ish at the hotel room and went home to sleep some more after lunch.

It was a very pleasant surprise that prom (and especially everything after) turned out to be so enjoyable, considering I was completely ... about it the week before. I guess it's nice to see everyone all glammed up as shiny happy people :D The girls looked pretty, the guys looked so much more mature - interesting what makeup, lighting and fancy clothes can do to change a person's image.

I am so going to miss 3O :'(

SEOUL GARDEN AGAIN TODAY A-WOOHOO!

Picture post time! )

No pictures of TWILIGHT which opened in Malaysia on 27th Nov but it was totally worth watching SOLELY for ROBERT PATTINSON AS EDWARD CULLEN. Oh, and the extremely fitting use of Supermassive Black Hole.

I thought he looked kinda meh in the promotional pictures but he NAILED IT. Unlike Kristen Stewart, who had a grand total of two facial expressions: stone and shocked. Kristine, I swear you will fall in love with him all over again. You should've heard Vic being really hormonal, Geets shouting "SEX ME NOW!!!" during the movie and Margie making irrational requests of flying boyfriends.

Margie has all the group shots on the escalator and elevator so I shall leave that to her.

My dress arrived this morning! vPost is way more efficient than I thought. It is too late to do any damage control for Wednesday so I shall spend the next two days not caring (:

How incredibly surreal it feels that the A-levels are finally over.

The past two years in RJC (and the March, June, September and November hols spent mugging this year) have just been one crazy whirlwind of studying, feeling guilty about not studying, laughing maniacally, playing celebrity hangman, doing the furtive boxstep, eating loads of sushi, running like madmen after math lectures to queue up at the yongtaufoo stall, getting addicted to handphone games, SEXYTIMEISNOW, frantically editing term papers and IS-es, panicking about the future, gossiping and random other assorted stuff.

Right now, I'm just glad JC life is a part of the past. Seriously, this year was insane.

THE HAPPINESS OF TODAY AFTER 9.15 AM, INCLUDES AWESOME WINX CLUB .GIF AND SUPERNOVA KRISTINE POSTER THAT YOU CAN'T MISS!!! )

Now there's the Monday Kingkongkang Disney sleepover, Seoul Garden with Ode, Genting/KL next week, Phuket in December, and many other things (like my Cornell alumni interview this Saturday!) to come.

I am zonked. 1.5 hours of sleep is losing its sustainability.

OKAY WHATEVER THE As ARE OVER AND THE ADRENALINE WILL PULL ME THROUGH~

Um,
Having time to do nothing is just a little bit unsettling, even if it's less than a week.

I mean, I can't even stay home lazing around for one complete day without feeling BORED by 4pm.

Okay people: slap me now, say I'm crazy/beautiful, but I'm suddenly wondering what I'm going to do every day after November 20, even with my handy, long list of 'Things to Do After As' (it's a real list, in a nice .doc file somewhere). It's not that I like studying (unlike some people, but seriously, the moment there's something I actually have to do, the slacker in me goes, "LOLOLOLOLOL LET'S JUST WATCH ANOTHER EPISODE OF {SOME MINDLESS SHOW}." ARRRGHH I can't be the only one afflicted by this.

I guess the prospect of THAT much free time is a bit daunting when you actually think about it, especially since we've had no 'holidays' lasting longer than one and a half months up till now.

Of course by around this Wednesday I'm going to be kicking myself for ever saying this, heh heh. 43 days to the As, 60 and public school life is over forever.

P.S. HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER is coming back tomorrow!!! I want Stella to be the mother so bad but that's never going to happen ):):

Potatoes used to be an integral part of my life. I miss waxing lyrical about them. Also beaches, dancing, and China ): I feel like they represent a part of my 'joyful' youth that I'll never see again.

I swear that Mr. (Pirate) Potato is one of the best gifts I've ever received (I think from the Gideon juniors at farewell a long time ago). I play with it all the time. I may actually invest in the whole series of Mr. Potato toys soon.

Darth Tater (i.e. the one on my LJ header) is my number one, for sure. The rest of the Star Wars Mr. Potatoes are equally rad - just look at Spud Trooper and Artoo-Potatoo! If that isn't enough awesome, there's still Idaho Spud Jones, Opti-Mash Prime, Spider-Spud and so many more. Aaaaargh!

"No ordinary fries, these are potatoes in disguise."

{ANVIL-SIZED HINTS}

Anyway, stay drug-free on the high seas! My plan is to live in the school library from now. I'm hopelessly unproductive and slack at home.
